Christopher Lee Smith was born and Raised in Gallatin Tennessee and Rocked in the cradle of southern pride and a strict missionary baptist upbringing. Chris is very family oriented and Deeply rooted in his Christian Faith. His curiosity of paranormal activity stemmed from a supernatural experience that took place in his grandfathers old barn located in the outskirts of rural Tennessee. Chris then began researching a phenomenon known as “Shadow People”, shadow-like humanoid figures that, according to believers, are seen mostly in peripheral vision. They are sometimes regarded in modern folklore and paranormal popular culture as malicious, evil spirits or “wraiths”. A hard core sceptic of ghosts in the traditional since, Chris believes in the plan of God the Father: You die, you are judged, you go to your “long home”. The nature of your home depends on your preparations with the big man upstairs prior to your appointment with the reaper. So what's left? The list is of theories are endless in the eyes of TWC founder Chris Smith. “We will never know what they are exactly. That's why we are so dead set on their discovery. It’s our human nature. One thing I know they are not... human.” Chris uses scientific testing and a strong Christian Faith to make his assumptions in a paranormal world, filled with many questions and very few answers.
Born in late 79, Steven McDougal has had many ventures. "Doogie" has an Extensive 12 year Background in Construction and Fabrication, but now works as an X-Ray Technician. Raised in a historic, and some say haunted area of Tennessee known as Big South Tunnel, his interest in the paranormal started at a young age. As an investigator, Doogie is determined and high energy with a unique awareness and a knack for finding new and interesting locations. He hopes to help others like him with unanswered questions about the unexplained. Doogie has labelled the residence he shares with his wife and son as haunted. Living in a home with this type of activity influenced him to study the paranormal and investigate unexplained phenomenon in the surrounding area. His number one desire is to find hard evidence and reveal the truth behind the unexplained, whether it be paranormal or not, to calm the fears of others and strengthen his knowledge in the field. His greatest fear is that the answers he might find may not be the answers he seeks.
In the summer of 1975 a hard headed, determined, analytical little boy was born to a deeply religious family in Gallatin, Tennessee. Molded by a strict Missionary Baptist mother and father who made certain that Scott would use his brain to make a living and not his back, this member of the team spent eight years of his life dedicated to higher education prior to entering the corporate world. Scott experienced an unexplainable event that occurred one morning as Scott awoke to the smell of breakfast filling his boyhood home. As Scott walked down the hall he noticed his mother wearing an unfamiliar pink robe while preparing breakfast at the stove. After a quick splash of water on his face in the hallway bathroom he started to the kitchen and quickly noticed that the smell of breakfast had vanished from the air and his mother was nowhere to be found. Once he thoroughly searched the house he picked up the phone and called his dad only to discover that both his mother and father had left the house much earlier that morning without ever having prepared breakfast. Scott now studies other strange occurrences like his and looks to historical record and The Bible for answers. He now hopes to help others that have had paranormal experiences by finding evidence that will substantiate what they have experienced, be it natural or supernatural. Scott brings an extremely analytical mind to the team and quite often plays the devil's advocate when studying evidence. His biggest fear is an altercation with a physically violent apparition or an entity that desires to do harm to him or others.
Raised in Gallatin Tennessee, Brannon is the younger brother of Chris and an aspiring physicist. Like Chris, Brannon was raised in a strict missionary Baptist upbringing and a sceptic of the paranormal. Brannon is a physics and engineering major currently attending College. He plans to eventually earn a master's degree in electrical engineering and a PhD in Theoretical Physics. He wishes to apply what he learns in physics and engineering to the paranormal investigations of TWC. He has a desire to explain hauntings as scientific phenomena that can be explained by theoretical physics, and is intrigued by the Stone Tape Theory. Being an extremely analytical thinker, he tries to explore every explanation possible before he will label a location paranormal. He doesn't believe that a person's soul will stay behind on earth after death, but that angels and demons roam the earth unseen. Brannon likes facing possible entities head-on to provoke a response. His true desire in paranormal investigation is to find logical explanations for Paranormal Activity. Having a natural human fear of sudden surprises like most investigators, Brannon's greatest fear is being afraid, or fear itself.
Mike Goncalves, musician, songwriter, and producer got his first taste of the paranormal working in the shadows of the show Ghost Asylum and on several occasions experienced his own paranormal events while trudging through the darkness of America's most haunted locations. Mike's experience with audio and video made him curious to see if the advanced equipment in the studio would help uncover evidence that the typical paranormal investigator was missing. This curiosity spawned the skeptic to reach out to his buddies, The Tennessee Wraith Chasers and offer his talents to aid in the teams quest to uncover the unknown bumps in the night. This seemingly match made in heaven has added additional tools and talents that the team may draw upon when entering these haunted locations across America. Mikes love of the Lord and of the paranormal has projected this brotherly bond into his becoming the newest wraith chaser. Mikes charming and witty personality fit perfectly into the dynamic of the TWC and as the investigations continue you can expect to see great things from this new lineup.
